I loved reading this book. This is the first book I have read by TJR and I am 100% going to be reading more from her (Daisy Jones and the Six and Malibu Rising, I’m looking at you). Overall the characters felt well rounded and realistic, each having good and bad within them. Evelyn’s life is portrayed fantastically. Her motives are well known with everything she does and you can feel the emotions she experiences as she experiences different challenges.
On a whole, I loved this story and have already recommended it to my friends. It made me cry, laugh, smile, and scream. I thought the story and the concept was totally unique and unlike anything I have ever read before.
I have a couple of reasons as to why I rated it 4 stars instead of 5, one being that my interest dipped slightly around the middle of the book however, I’m glad I decided to stick with it. My other is that the final twist didn’t have enough of an impact for me personally. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not what I was expecting at all and I was completely shocked, it just didn’t have enough of an impact on the rest of the story for me. On the other hand, this isn’t to say that this book isn’t worth reading. It was massively enjoyable and represented a range of people from different backgrounds, which is always nice to see too.
